Neurotoxins (botulinum toxin type A products such as onabotulinumtoxinA and similar FDA-approved brands) temporarily reduce the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. In the skin and the muscles beneath it, that means less repetitive folding of the dermis—and, in selected sites, less sweat.
At Helix Advanced Medicine these injections are a medical procedure: product choice, units, and placement are decided after we look at how your face moves, what you want to keep, and what we should not treat. Our injectors (Dr. Neese and Allison Snyder NP) are well trained, experienced, and will consult with you to get the desired results. Results are temporary. They are not a facelift, not filler, and not a guarantee of a frozen look unless that is what you ask for and anatomy allows it.
What we treat
- Glabella (the “11s” between the brows), horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet
- Selected off-label facial areas when anatomy and consent support it
- Focal axillary hyperhidrosis when antiperspirants have failed
- Selective migraine protocols after consultation — not bundled into a cosmetic visit unless planned
Peak effect is usually about 1–2 weeks; duration is often 3–4 months. You should still be able to look like yourself. We use FDA-approved products sourced through licensed channels—not compounded or “research” toxin.
